How it works

Taught, practised, reviewed, seen

How a child learns on The Learning Ladder: taught first with a worked example, practised with questions that never run out, reviewed before it fades, and shown to parents as it happens.

01

Taught

Every written lesson opens with “learn first” cards or a worked example — one idea at a time, ending with the mistake it usually causes — and 103 practice topics open with a worked example. A child who already knows it can skip straight to the questions.

02

Practised

155 generators write fresh questions every time, so a skill can be practised until it sticks. 244 written lessons add reading passages, writing tasks and science explanations.

03

Reviewed

What a child has learned comes back for review just before it would be forgotten — a scheduling method used by memory research — so March’s skill is still there in June.

04

Seen

The parent view shows questions answered, accuracy, time and streak, the last two weeks, the topics worth another look, and the writing your child has done.

The details that matter

Questions with one right answer
Every question is checked before the app is built: no two options that could both be right, no answer key that misses an item, no picture that is missing. A question with two defensible answers is treated as a bug — a child who meets one stops trusting the app.
Bloom’s taxonomy, not just recall
Every question is tagged with its level of Bloom’s taxonomy, and every lesson must reach the upper levels for its step — analysing, evaluating and creating, not only remembering and applying — so a lesson cannot be all recall and pass.
Read aloud for early readers
Many Foundations questions have a “Read it to me” button, built from recorded clips rather than a robot voice. Phonics uses the pure sound of each letter.
Writing that is read
Extended writing is checked against a model answer and a checklist, and kept — so a parent can read what their child actually wrote.
Works offline
Install it on a phone or tablet and lessons work without a connection. Progress syncs when you are back online.
Made for every child
A dyslexia-friendly font, a high-contrast mode, and buttons sized for small fingers.
