FAQ

Questions parents ask

Answers to the questions parents ask about The Learning Ladder: the PACE approach, Bloom’s taxonomy, the curriculum, ages, the free trial, devices, plans and privacy.

Getting started

What ages is it for?

Five to sixteen, in five steps: Foundations (5–7), then Steps One to Four up to IGCSE-style practice at 14–16.

Can we try it before paying?

Yes. Every family can answer 20 questions free, with every step and subject open, and no card needed. Everything your child does is kept when you subscribe.

Which subjects does it cover?

English, Maths, Science and Reasoning — 244 written lessons and 155 practice topics so far, and growing.

What is the PACE approach?

PACE stands for Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy — the way we treat every child. Learning is playful, every child is welcome where they are and mistakes are part of the climb, questions ask why as well as what, and the app is built around how a child feels while learning. It also means each child learns at their own pace.

What is Bloom’s taxonomy, and why does it matter?

Bloom’s taxonomy orders thinking from remembering a fact, through understanding, applying, analysing and evaluating, up to creating something new. Every question in the app is tagged with its level, every lesson must reach the upper levels for its step, and the parent view shows the mix — so a child masters a topic rather than only memorising it.

Which curriculum does it follow?

In English and Maths, the British Cambridge curriculum: Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary in the early steps, then Cambridge IGCSE First Language English and Mathematics (Core) in the final step. Science covers the same ages, and Reasoning is our own addition. The lessons and questions are our own; we are not affiliated with Cambridge.

Where should my child start?

Wherever they are. Every step is open; you choose a starting step for each child and can change it at any time.

Using it

Which devices does it work on?

Any modern phone, tablet or computer, in the browser. You can install it like an app from the browser menu.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Once installed, lessons and practice work offline, and progress syncs when you are back online.

How do children sign in?

On your family’s device, a child taps their name and enters a short PIN that you set. No email needed.

Can my child read the questions alone?

Many Foundations questions have a “Read it to me” button. At that age a grown-up reading alongside helps with the rest; from Step One, children read the questions themselves.

Plans and payment

How much does it cost?

₦2,500 a month, or ₦25,000 a year, for up to 4 children.

How many children can use one account?

Up to 4 on the family plan, each with their own profile and progress.

Do you accept promo codes?

Yes. Enter the code at checkout; you see the final price before you pay.

Is there a referral reward?

Yes. Share your family’s referral link from your account page; the family you invite gets a welcome discount, and you earn one when they subscribe.

Privacy

What data do you keep about my child?

Their first name or nickname, an avatar, and their learning — answers, time spent and written work — so they and you can see progress. No adverts, no selling data, no third-party trackers.

Can I delete our data?

Yes. Email us and we will delete your family’s account and learning records. See the privacy policy for details.
